Some food is really good for you..but...First, you must be actually eating food.

Good food is hard to find....that is just BS... the truth is if you want something bad enough you get it. If you were told you need to change your diet or you will be very sick, you may not change, but faced with something more dramatic like a life threatening illness then you may change. Proof can be found in local news; when there was an e-coli scare from spinach, it was taken off the shelves....it became life threatening to eat spinach, so we stopped eating it. This works when we do know what is good for us.
Most of us do know what is good, and many more do not. The real question becomes the way the food is prepared and how much you eat. Where does your pasta come from...really, do you know? where is the flour processed, enriched and stripped of all it's nutrients. The bread, muffin bagel etc.... same flour? perhaps same wheat, same plant.

If you start to process your foods yourself you have more control over the content of your meals, therefore you begin to realize what you are eating...this will begin a process of eating better.

Simple carbohydrates such as sugars, processed foods, sugary beverages, candy are harmful to the body because they are quickly converted in to glucose. Complex Carbohydrates are slowly digested and found in food that is healthy..i.e. fruit, vegetables and whole grain foods.

Its not hard to find good food if you want it...just start from the source..mash your own potato, Make your own tomato sauce, make your own bread and pasta or at least make sure it was made from whole grains.
Everyone has different tastes, the variety of available foods make it difficult to choose good over bad. I want to enjoy food but I don't want it to kill me!...I just watch my portions, question what I am eating and look for the most wholesome solution. Since I am an avid juicer and I make drinks derived from whole foods, I am getting my daily requirement of veggies and fruits...but, that can not replace a nice roasted chicken and rice dinner or some hearty chicken stew...so I make sure that I eat like that in moderation, always conscious of how much and when I eat. No need to torture myself, just be aware of what I am eating..its more fun that way.
